Costa Rican English education has changed. Part of the new curriculum requires teachers to start the reading learning process in first cycle; however, it is difficult to find short stories that are suitable to the content and level of our students. Storybird is an online tool that provides teachers with endless possibilities to create short illustrated stories that can later be used in the English classroom to enhance the literacy process. This mini-workshop mixes theory on developing students’ literacy with ideas on how to use the website to create your own short digital storybooks.
